Can you Wipe Debt?
As the enonomy looks set to worsen more and more citizens are struggling with their debts. For many, the situation is already critcal with increasing numbers of re-possessoins being reported.
Furthermore, many people are having to pay household bills with credit / debit cards. For these unfortunate people, who bought houses at the wrong time, or suffered some other economic setback there is no easy way out of the situation.
For many, being able to wipe debt is more of a dream than an aspiration, it just does not seem possible.
Wiping out ones debts is never an easy process. If you are lucky then you will be able to come to an arrangement with your creditors, where, part of the debt is wiped or written off.
Fortunately the government interevened backing solutions such as IVA’s, which allow debtors to have part of their debt written off.
The problem is that it is only practical to do this if you really do not have any assets. As, creditors will not simply agree to wipe a debt just because you ask them to!
To be able to take advantage of these schemes, you really have to have reached the end of the line and be genuinely unable to pay your creditors.
Only then will they consider cutting their losses and wiping the debt. Unfortunately, this means that only the most desperate and unfortunate ever get debt wiped, the vast majority will spend years trying to clear their loans, and some of these people now stand to lose their homes, all beacuse of the greed of a handful of financiers.
