CEMEX’s Environmental Leadership
CEMEX air quality has consistently shown a venerable track record in environmental advocacy. It tries hard to make as subtle a carbon footprint possible in making its products.
Among other innovations, CEMEX air quality has sold concrete that acts as an insulator by itself. As such, it can suppress excessive heat transfer around structures during searing weather, warming them in a colder one. Such mechanisms make conventional insulation products, which emit greenhouse gases, unnecessary.
Creatively enough, CEMEX air quality has developed concrete with antiseptic properties, making it a good building material for hospitals and medical facilities. Yet another CEMEX creation is acid-resistant concrete, best for silage storehouses. The company also manufactures porous concrete, which lets rain and water drain underneath, thereby mitigating floods.
The processes used by CEMEX air quality in producing its products are exemplary in terms of environmental stewardship. Some CEMEX cement products, for instance, require only byproducts from steel and iron factories as well as coal energy plants.
Presently, CEMEX is partnering with various players in the private sector, in deference to the Energy Efficiency in Buildings (EEB) campaign. Basically, this initiative promotes structures that require less energy. Spearheaded by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), EEB looks to make a paradigm shift in the construction industry, let alone the cement-making business.
